The Dawson Creek Horse Club is open to anyone who Horses around: English or Western. Any member who wants to organize a clinic, show, or other event is welcome to do so. Just bring your ideas and energy to the regular monthly meeting (3rd Thursday of the Month) or contact one of the executive.

For club membership please fill out the PDF Membership Form 2010 Please make sure to sign and return the Waiver => page 2 of the Membership Form.

To use the Agriplex indoor arena where our clinics and events are held you must be a member of the Horse Council of British Columbia (or Alberta equivalent). Schedule for the Lakota Agriplex(includes Helga's contact information.)

April 15th MEETING HIGHLIGHTS

Party Alert! – Horse people party Friday, Apr. 30^th at Norman’s in the shop.

6:30pm – potluck, BYOB, and chair

RSVP Rose or Haley if you are attending

Clock presentation picture was in The Mirror – check to see if it is hanging in the Lakota Arena

Cargo trailer is now being used. $761.00 to get it going. Thank you to Brian who put in extra work for the trailer.

Bombproofing Clinic went well. Everyone felt successful and learned a lot. Thank you to the volunteers who helped make things easier by pitching in to help Judy out.

Wild & Lawless Horse Show – planning well under way with 69 classes scheduled
- Fundraising: Poker Ride May 9^th10:00 am BC time start at Baytree Park
- Encana Cleanup sign up sheet available
May 1^st 8:30 am Pouce Coupe Legion, 6-20 volunteers needed.
- City Cleanup
May 15^th

10 confirmed volunteers needed
- Valerie has a toy tractor donated by Douglas Lake Equip. to raffle off for fundraising for the W&L Show.

Horse Club Trail – Looking into mapping Hays Pit to Gundy Rim Rocks.

Lessons at the Lakota Arena end Apr 25^th. See Tara for summer lessons.
Arena rental for Jan. – Mar.31 was $2000.00 for Wed. and Sun. lessons

Clinic Participant Expectations Contract

Note: the last page of the Clinic Participant Expectations Contract has been modified as of April 14, 2010.

Please download the Clinic Expectations Contract and fill out the last page.

To participate in any clinic with the DCHC or any event in the Lakota Center you must have HCBC or AEF membership (for insurance purposes). On the last page of the new Contract you are requested to write down your HCBC or AEF number so the clinic organizer has a paper copy with proof of your membership.
